A Voter ID card (EPIC) lets you exercise your right to vote and also serves as a widely accepted identity document. Punjab Saathi helps you apply for a new Voter ID or correct an existing one through Form 6 on the Election Commission's current Voters' Services Portal (voters.eci.gov.in — the same system many people still know by its older name, NVSP) — we assist with the application; your voter registration is verified and approved only by the Election Commission of India through your local Booth Level Officer (BLO).

Step-by-Step Application Process

Turning 18? You Don't Have to Wait for One Fixed Date

Many people assume voter registration only opens once a year. It doesn't — there are four qualifying dates each year (1 January, 1 April, 1 July, and 1 October), so once you turn 18 you can register from the next qualifying date rather than waiting for a single annual window.

Special Intensive Revision (SIR) — Check Your Name Now

Punjab's electoral rolls are periodically revised through a Special Intensive Revision, during which names are added, corrected, or in some cases removed. During and after a revision window, it's worth confirming your name is still correctly listed rather than assuming nothing has changed — we can check this for you.

1. Create an Account — Register on the Election Commission's Voters' Services Portal with your mobile number.
2. Fill the Right Form — Form 6 for new registration, or Form 8 for corrections and address changes.
3. Upload Your Photo and Proof — Attach a recent photo along with your age and address proof.
4. BLO Verification — Your local Booth Level Officer verifies your address before your entry is approved.
5. Get Your Voter ID — Once approved, download your e-EPIC instantly or collect your physical card.
